SURVEY Copter came into the world on May 2nd, 1996 further to the realization of an innovative product: a gyro-stabilized turret for a film director of the TV show "Ushuaia". The company was founded by MR PIERRE TANTOT, specialist of COMEX,  is one of worldwide pioneers in Mini UAVs.In 2005, SURVEY Copter passes from a start-up to a PME of industrial production. MR ERIC GEORGES, leaves ONERA and joins in the beginning of 2005 MR PIERRE TANTOT to rise the challenge.In 2007 SURVEY Copter acquired its Swiss partner weControl SA, a spin-off of the Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, which was founded by MR JACQUES CHAPUIS in 2000.
This acquisition allows SURVEY Copter to control the complete technological chain of  UAVs: a probably worldwide unique position..

EVOLUTION

SURVEY Copter is a highly innovative company in the field of development, design and production of UAVs. As a consequence its worldwide awareness is steadily increasing.
For a long time SURVEY Copter remained a small company (from 1996 till 2004), with 1 to 4 employees. The company developed progressively as an incubator of COMEX Nucléaire. Beginning of 2005 PIERRE TANTOT, with 32 years of experience at COMEX became full time manager of SURVEY Copter.
At the end of 2004 SURVEY Copter won an important contract of the  Ministry of Defence. This allowed the company to grow from a start-up to a PME of industrial production. MR Eric GEORGE joined after 22 years of activity at ONERA the  company to rise up the challenge. SURVEY Copter has a strong growth, with currently 27 employees, a turnover growth of 30 to 50 % per year and holds a subsidiary company in Switzerland: weControl SA, which is located near to the airfield of Courtelary in the Canton of Berne.SURVEY Copter is a highly innovative company in the field of development, design and production of UAVs. GEOGRAPHICAL SITUATION

Within its industrial development SURVEY Copter choose to establish its company location in the region Rhône Alpes. Since May 2006 the company occupies its facilities on the airfield of Pierrelatte. Due to its aerospace activities, the vicinity of an airfield was an important criteria when considering a new location. The facility includes office space, workshops for microelectronics and micromechanics, a hall for system integration and a storage space. Due to the company’s growth a third building has been built in 2009. The total area of the buildings is now 1175 m2.
