WeSim

CONCEPT

SURVEY Copter and weControl have developed in partnership with H-SIM, the UAS simulator “weSim” which allows to fly the SURVEY Copter and weControl UAS in a virtual 3-D environment under real-time conditions. The training of operational teams can be done with less risks and regardless of environmental conditions.
The simulation system is composed of real parts of the UAS system and simulation tools which allow to accomplish a complete mission (takeoff, flight, landing). Furthermore the system includes a simulator for daylight/IR camera gimbals allowing to perform observation missions on zones of interests with mobile or stationary targets in a complete virtual world.
The simulator is an ideal tool for training and mission preparation.

EASY TO USE, NO RISK, HIGH STANDARD OF OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE

Regardless of weather conditions personnel can be trained to use the UAS of SURVEY Copter and weControl. All the simulated flight phases, e.g. takeoff, manual flight, waypoint guidance and landing maneuvers are performed in a hardware-in-the-loop configuration with the real autopilot. The virtual aircraft flies in a virtual environment. The payload camera images are also simulated and visualized. They correspond to the scenery which the camera would see in reality.  All the flight sequences can be recorded and replayed in a didactic way. Some typical scenarios can be played. Furthermore, an experimented operator can train personnel without performing real flights with the UAV.
For mission preparation or evaluation it is possible to simulate various types of vehicles, e.g. cars, boats and aircraft. It is therefore possible to check the
feasibility of tracking a truck convoy with a UAV.
Finally the scene with the UAV can be observed from different locations including even user-defined points of interest. The UAV flight trajectory can then be optimized, to improve stealth for example.
